We cannot answer you since you have not included any information about the dependent you added or when you amended. But if you are looking for the monthly payments, you will not get them. Having an amended return in the system affects your eligibility to get the monthly CTC payments. And there is only one more monthly payment to go--on December 15. After that, you need to get the CTC as part of your refund on your 2021 return. It takes about six months or more for the IRS to process an amended return, so do not expect quick results from amending.
If you forgot to include a dependent on your 2020 return, then when the IRS processes your amended 2020 return you may receive the CTC under the tax laws in effect for the CTC on a 2020 return. The new higher amount is really for 2021, so you can seek that on your 2021 return by entering your eligible dependent.

November 15, 2021 7:45 PM@Softballmomma13 I just looked back at some of your previous posts, including one in which you say that you are usually a "non-filer". Then you submitted a 2019 return that was incorrect, and later amended it. It is not clear what you did with a 2020 return---but apparently you have recently amended that one too. If you did not have income from working in 2020 then you will not get the child tax credit for 2020. On a 2020 return, the CTC is only given to you if you had income from working.
That changes for the enhanced child tax credit for 2021. Even if you did not work, if you have an eligible dependent child then you can get the CTC as part of your refund on your 2021 tax return. So make sure you file a 2021 return. You will need to enter your child's Social Security number in My Info in order to claim your child to get the CTC.

November 15, 2021 8:09 PMI meant to say the advanced child credit, will the irs see I added my dependent on my amendment ?
November 16, 2021 4:25 AMNO . and any advance CTC you are currently getting will stop.
November 16, 2021 5:26 AMWhy wouldn’t I? And why would my payments stop from my dependent now? I claim the rest when I do my taxes for this year correct?
November 16, 2021 6:11 AM@Softballmomma13 As explained---putting an amended return into the system affects your eligibility for the advance monthly child tax credit payments. While you have an amended return pending, the IRS stops the monthly CTC payments. If you sent in an amended return you will not receive any more of those payments, which end in December. You will be waiting to seek the rest when you file your 2021 return.
The IRS is not going to react quickly to anything you put on an amended return, since it takes them at least six months to process an amended tax return.
You have not provided any details here regarding the dependent you added when you amended so we cannot say if you will even become eligible for the CTC as the result of amending your 2020 return. We do not know if you worked in 2020----and that matters a lot. In other threads you posted in you have described yourself as a "non-filer" so we do not know what source of income you entered on a 2020 tax return, nor do we know anything about the dependent you added. We cannot see your tax returns. We only know the limited information you have posted, which is not enough for us to predict whether you will even get the CTC by amending your 2020 return.
